First Blizzard of the Year

A Blizzard Warning has been announced for northern minnesota until 12 noon tomorrow. They have advised no travel and have closed some of the highways. They have also closed many of the schools for tomarrow. The boys are thrilled. I, however, am not. I took the day off of work so I could do some uniterrupted Christmas baking.
David enjoys the snow.

He even helps out with the shoveling.

Colton helps out with the snow plowing.

Busy, Productive Day

Today is a very busy day for us. We have not decorated for Christmas yet and it is only 12 days away. Today we went out to the woods and chopped down a christmas tree. We spend the daylight hours decorated the exterior of the house with the outdoor decorations. Duane was surely brave to get up on the icey and snowy roof to put the lights up.

Colton helped put the stars on the deck.

David helped put Santa up.

Trica put the lights in the trees.

Kirk helped out with the Reindeer.

Today is David 4 month anniversary in the USA. I cooked David's choice of Hungarian meals.
Gombapörkölt. A mushroom stew. I served it over Nokedli. I made chicken gravy over noodles as a second choice. David had tejbegriz for dessert. This is like grits. David added extra sugar and chocolate. I thought it tasted like brownie batter.
Colton cuts down the Christmas tree.

Duane watches Colton's progress of tree cutting.

Colton decorates the Christmas tree while singing aloud to the Christmas music.

Kirk hid the Christmas Pickle in the tree.

Duane decorates with some of his Christmas ornaments, all electronic-the cell phone and the laptop computer.

Trica decorating the tree.

Dakota decorating the tree.

Here is what our Christmas tree looks like.

We all pose for a Christmas picture after our long day.

PeeYew! What is that smell!

My lovely, beautiful, well-behaved boys.......
decided to have a cologne, body spray, and perfume fight. What ever they could get ahold of to stink up the next boy was used. You should smell the house! PeeYew!
And the boys..........stinky! Duane's going to have a fit... and
Of course I just stood by and took pictures, here they are.
David gets Colton where it counts.

Dakota and Kirk were lured into the fun.

Minnesota Vikings 20 vs Detroit Lions 16

Since David slept in the morning, he got to help peel potatoes for Sunday dinner. We had meatballs with mashed potatoes and gravy. While we ate, we watched the Vikings beat the Lions. Go Vikes!

Mall of America

We spent the day at the Mall of America. The largest shopping mall in the U.S.
The boys build racecars at LEGOland. We ate Häagen-Dazs ice cream. Did allot of walking and shopping.
Dakota building his racecar.

David, Colton, Duane and Kirk building their racecars.
It was quite a job finding the wheels and axels.

We took a break from shopping by playing an 18 hole round of mini-golf.

Colton was the most talented today getting a hole-in-one
and "flushing the toilet" on the 17th hole. David had a game of bad luck.
The rest of us were just average. We had fun anyways.

We ate at the Rain Forest Cafe.
